Visit of the Beijing Foreign Studies University Delegation to Alisher

On April 21, Alisher Navoiy Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature had the honor of welcoming a distinguished delegation from Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). The delegation was received by Rector, Professor Shuhrat Sirojiddinov, and Head of the International Relations Department, Ozoda Gulyamova.
The esteemed delegation comprised BFSU Rector, Professor Jia Wenjian; Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, He Jin; Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language, Dai Guiju; Director of the "Double First-Class" and Strategic Planning Office, Tang Zheyuan; and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language, Miao Shu.
During the meeting, the parties engaged in a substantive dialogue on enhancing the longstanding partnership between the two institutions. Discussions focused on promoting the Uzbek language and literature on the international stage; developing joint master’s and doctoral programs, particularly in the fields of Uzbek language and literature; creating collaborative educational and methodological resources, textbooks, and digital platforms; expanding opportunities for student internships and short-term academic programs; organizing faculty exchange initiatives; implementing joint grant projects in social work, management, and international relations; and hosting international conferences and seminars. The delegation also explored launching interactive webinars, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), and cultural exchange programs dedicated to the study of the Uzbek language.

It is noteworthy that in September 2023, Bai Yang, a scholar from BFSU, was admitted to the doctoral program at Alisher Navoiy University. Currently, he is conducting advanced research in the field of Uzbek language theory and methodology, exemplifying the tangible outcomes of the academic cooperation between the two institutions.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, underlining both parties' commitment to expanding their collaboration through specific, future-oriented projects.
