Uzbek Language Classes for Korean Volunteers Conclude

The collaboration between the Korea International Development Cooperation Center (KIDC) and the Alisher Nava’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature recently reached a significant milestone. Over the past four months, 15 KIDC volunteers immersed themselves in learning Uzbek language and culture at the university. On November 21, the training sessions concluded with a certificate ceremony to honor the participants.

Speaking at the event, the university’s Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Nozliya Normurodova, highlighted the volunteers’ impressive progress in mastering Uzbek language and culture in such a short time. She also expressed gratitude to the KIDC representatives for their trust and commitment to the program.

Notably, five of these Korean volunteers contributed by teaching Korean to the university’s students, fostering a meaningful cultural exchange.

Looking ahead, another large group of Korean volunteers is set to begin studying Uzbek at the “Uzbek School” in March 2025, with the goal of achieving a B1 proficiency level.

It is worth noting that over 600 international learners have successfully studied Uzbek at the “Uzbek School,” advancing from A1 to C2 levels. Currently, the center continues to serve nearly 100 students who are delving into the Uzbek language and culture, reaffirming its role as a vital hub for promoting the richness of Uzbekistan’s linguistic and cultural heritage.
