
RESEARCH ON UZBEK FOLKLORE AND DIALECTS: PRACTICES, METHODOLOGY, AND NEW APPROACHES
An international scientific-theoretical conference titled Research on Uzbek Folklore and Dialects: Practices, Methodology, and New Approaches was held at Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature. The official opening of the conference featured a speech from the University’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Philology, Professor Sulton Normamatov, who read the congratulatory message sent by the university’s rector, academician Shuhrat Sirojiddinov, to the organizers and participants.
The congratulatory message emphasized the significance of the conference for the fields of folklore studies and dialectology. The plenary session of the conference was chaired by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Odinaxon Jamoldinova. During the plenary session, scientific reports from local and international experts in the field were presented.
The conference continued with specialized sessions covering various topics such as "Scientific Issues of Dialects and Folklore in the Context of Foreign Scholars," "Research on Uzbek Dialects, Dialectal Lexicography, Dialectal Corpora, Toponymy, and Linguoculturology," "Relevant Issues in Uzbek Folklore Studies and Its Research History," "Folklore and Literary Relations," and "Promising Researchers."
Additionally, a book exhibition was organized showcasing publications related to folklore and dialectology. At the end of the conference, speakers were awarded certificates and commemorative gifts for their contributions.
