LITERARY HERITAGE OF YUNUS EMRO AND UZBEK LITERATURE

Political, economic, cultural and social cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey goes back to centuries. It is especially heartwarming that continuous relations based on mutual friendship and brotherhood has reached a new level today.
Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature hosted a scientific-practical conference on "Literary heritage of Yunus Emro and Uzbek literature." The fact that the conference was organized by TSUULL in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, indicates the fruitful mutual cooperation between two countries as well as promoting the works of the great Turkish poet Yunus Emro.
In particular, it is worth mentioning that Yunus Emro's book of selected poems "O‘lmas ko‘ngil" was published with a foreword by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2020.
The conference was opened by the Rector of Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, Professor Shuhrat Sirojiddinov. Besides, during his speech, Dr. Alparslon Akinji- Adviser to the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey on Tourism and Culture, expressed endless gratitude to the government of Uzbekistan and the scientific community for such good efforts. Well-known scholars and writers discussed the role of Yunus Emro's works in the development of Turkic literature, its artistic-aesthetic and epistemological-ethical significance as well as the worthy continuation of Khoja Ahmad Yassavi’s traditions in his works. They also exchanged views on the issues of globalization, the current and future development of Uzbek-Turkish literary relations.
