Information Resource Center

Information Resource Center

The main purpose of the Information Resource Center is to provide information and library services to university students, faculty members, and scientific researchers, including supplying them with new-generation educational literature, as well as artistic, scientific, and popular publications.

Tasks

  • Meeting the demand of students, teaching staff, and researchers for the use of educational literature and providing them with informational and reference services;
  • Continuously enriching the Information Resource Center’s collection with new-generation educational literature related to the university’s fields of study and specialties;
  • In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-3271 dated September 13, 2017, “On the Program of Comprehensive Measures to Develop the System of Publishing and Distribution of Book Products, Increase the Culture of Reading, and Promote Book Reading,” regularly providing university students, faculty, staff, and researchers with artistic, scientific, and popular publications, as well as local and foreign periodicals published by national publishing houses;
  • Supporting users in self-education through the use of information and communication technologies;
  • Continuously enriching the “ZiyoNET” electronic information network and the university’s electronic library with electronic educational information resources;
  • Organizing visits to book museums;
  • Holding art and book exhibitions;
  • Providing socio-cultural services to users through organizing library tours.

Rights and Responsibilities

The Information Resource Center (IRC) has the following rights:

  • To make amendments and additions to this Regulation in the prescribed manner;
  • To use information-library collections and other information resources, as well as determine the conditions and rules of their use;
  • To determine the type and amount of damages caused by users in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
  • To take measures to recover damages caused by users in the amount of five to ten times the value of the loss;
  • To restrict access to IRC resources for users who violate this Regulation for a period (two weeks, one month, three months, six months, or one year) and impose relevant disciplinary measures.

The Information Resource Center is obliged to:

  • Form information-library resources and ensure their preservation and rational use in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Library Charter governing information-library activities;
  • Create comfortable working conditions for users within the IRC;
  • Ensure a high standard of user service and library culture;
  • Maintain the confidentiality of user information, except in cases provided by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
  • Inform users about any amendments and additions made to this Regulation.
