
Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature keeps attracting the international universities' attention, 16 July
The university's rise in the World University Rankings is increasing the interest of foreign universities to cooperate with it. Indiana University professor Nazif Shahrani, who visited our university on July 12, expressed his utmost interest in cooperation. At the meeting, it has been mentioned that Indiana University intends to promote the Uzbek language and culture in the United States extensively.
Later, on July 16, a group of Turkology professors, led by the deputy dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Oxford University, professor Zeyneb Yurakli, visited the university as well. Oxford University professors Zeyneb Yurakli, Emine Chakir, Leyla Nazafzada, Asli Niyazioglu were interested in the aspects of the university's cooperation with foreign higher education institutions, the level of social sciences and their teaching, and the new methodology developed by the university for teaching the Uzbek language.
The guests were informed about the history, educational directions and missions, achievements and future plans of the university. The effort of the university to promote the Uzbek language and culture in foreign countries, the activities of the "Uzbek school" teaching the Uzbek language to foreigners aroused great interest among the guests.
The meeting was held in a friendly spirit. The wishes of the guests to open an Uzbek language course at Oxford University and its methodological support were welcomed by the university management, and it was noted that the university would highly support for the realization of this propsperous collaboration.
During the meeting, it was agreed that the official delegation of Oxford University would visit the university in December of this year for memorandum of cooperation and members of the delegation would be able to study the methodological achievements of TSUULL in teaching the Uzbek language to gain experience in the field.
