TSUULL Delegation Visit Central Asian Higher Education Rectors' Forum in Tajikistan, 13-14 September

On 13-14 September, 2023 Prof. Shuhrat Sirojiddinov, the Rector of TSUULL and Prof. Nozliya Normurodova, TSUULL Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, attended the Second Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in Central Asian countries which was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where they delivered a public lecture on ‘Collaboration and Progress: Paths of Bilateral Relations in Higher Education, Illustrated by TSUULL’. 

The opening ceremony of the forum took place at Tajikistan National University. The main objective of the Rectors' Forum was to enhance comprehensive cooperation among universities to the maximum extent possible, thereby creating an environment for collaboration between faculties and educational institutions, strengthening the internationalization of higher education, boosting student exchange and expanding avenues for enhancing the academic mobility of teachers. Representatives from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan, including Ministers responsible for education and Rectors of leading universities actively participated in the Forum.

During the designated sessions of the forum, various topics were discussed, including opportunities and prospects for increasing competitiveness among Central Asian higher education institutions, the impact of the Bologna education system on producing high-quality graduates and modern vectors of educational and scientific internationalization.


 
One of the practical outcomes of this Forum was the proposal and approval of the establishment of a Center for Uzbek Language and Culture at Osh State University in Kyrgyz Republic. Additionally, agreements were reached on supporting the Uzbek Language and Culture Center at L.Gumilyov Eurasian National University through methodological resources, promoting international ratings such as THE Impact Ranking and QS in the field of scientific and international cooperation, increasing the number of foreign students, and introducing additional programs in Turkology and Humanities. Collaboration was also set in motion with Osh State University named after A. Mirsabekov to conduct extensive research, establish national and international programs in a traditional manner and organize internships for professors, lecturers and researchers.


Moreover, an agreement was signed with Pavladar Pedagogical University to exchange experiences in academic and scientific fields, establish joint academic committees and promote academic cooperation.
