Second Year of the U.S. Funded Project to Enhance English Proficiency Among Uzbek Writers and Poets in TSUULL

On 6 September, 2023 the Uzbek Writers and Poets took part in the lessons within the English Language Course led by Ms. Zukhra Khakimova, TSUULL English Language Faculty Lecturer and Ms. Ozoda Gulyamova, TSUULL Senior Lecturer of Theory and Practice of Translation Faculty and Director of TSUULL Uzbek School.

TSUULL has been home for many outstanding Uzbek writers, poets and translators. As our university has close relations with writers and poets of Uzbekistan, think-tanks and research centers in the cultural sphere, it is well-aware of issues related to foreign language learning level of these professionals. 

Last year, in 2022 TSUULL officially launched a Project to increase knowledge and skills of English among Uzbek writers and poets. Project funded by the U.S. Embassy helps to increase language awareness to become TSUULL a high-quality higher education institution.

The main aims of the project:
– to develop learners basic English communication skills (both written and spoken);
– to help program participants to better understand their personal/national identity and values through learning about American culture;
– to raise participants` awareness about American literature (mainly focusing on most popular modern trends and genres);
– to train them to write in English and apply for the American Writers program.
