
MGIMO Students Visited TSUULL, 19 February
On 19 February 2023 a group of MGIMO (Russia) students with specialization in Central Asian Studies with proficiency in Uzbek/Turkish Language visited TSUULL University. This was a part of the cooperation between Universities.
Established in 1943, MGIMO University (Moscow State Institute of International Relations) is among the premier social science universities in Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and BRICS countries. MGIMO is also a world-renowned, highly influential public policy think tank. In 1995 a Turkic language sector was established within the Department of Middle East Languages offering Turkic languages such as Azerbaijani (since 1995), Turkmen and Uzbek (since 2000) for studying.
The meeting began with a presentation of TSUULL University. The Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Nozliya Normurodova gave a greeting speech: she talked to the listeners about TSUULL University, the advantages of studying in University, and pointed out some exclusive features. She presented the Campus and University, its cycles and study programs as well as the international dimension of the University and participation in various international programs for students. Also she emphasized TSUULL University is a small university but strives towards the best quality education available to students in Tashkent and the region.
The meeting also included a presentation of Uzbek School – a new educational project for foreigners within TSUULL University. As Director of TSUULL Uzbek School Ms.Ozoda Gulyamova highlighted, the School combines over 75 years of experience in the Uzbek Language of TSUULL University – the Faculty of Uzbek Language and Literature was the first to start functioning in 1935. The academic board is the fundamental unit of the School and it is responsible for ensuring academic quality and high standards in the field of teaching, learning, collaboration with international partners and the integration of graduates into the professional community.
By the time the event was coming to its end an active discussion was underway, during which the MGIMO students asked a number of questions, ranging from conditions of admission to TSUULL to questions regarding the place of Uzbek language in the system of the world languages, the Uzbek culture and literature as well.
