TSUULL Faculty Member Presents Achievements at the Faculty Enrichment Program Alumni Conference
Zaure Kertayeva, a faculty member at Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature (TSUULL), delivered a presentation at the latest conference of alumni of the American Councils' Faculty Enrichment Program (FEP), highlighting how the knowledge and experience gained through the program have been applied to Uzbekistan's higher education system.
During her presentation, she shared insights from her professional training at Pennsylvania State University in 2021, which was supported by an American Councils grant. She discussed innovative teaching methodologies, mechanisms for strengthening international cooperation, and the practical application of these approaches in the educational process. Particular emphasis was placed on adapting international best practices to the local higher education context, expanding students' participation in the global academic environment, and enhancing collaboration with foreign universities.
The presentation also highlighted projects aimed at strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions in the United States and Uzbekistan. Among them, the virtual student exchange project established under Pennsylvania State University's EDGE Program, involving students from Pennsylvania State University and TSUULL, was recognized as one of the most significant practical outcomes of the Faculty Enrichment Program. The initiative has provided students with valuable opportunities for international academic dialogue, intercultural exchange, and collaboration in a modern digital learning environment.
Conference participants also emphasized the important role of international professional development programs in improving the quality of higher education, enhancing the professional capacity of academic staff, and fostering long-term international academic partnerships.
It is worth noting that Zaure Kertayeva is not only an alumnus of the American Councils' Faculty Enrichment Program but also a recipient of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation scholarship, through which she completed additional professional training at the University of Sydney, Australia. The knowledge and expertise gained through these international educational programs continue to contribute to improving the quality of education at TSUULL, introducing innovative teaching practices, and expanding the university's international academic cooperation.
